About Me
I'm a third year Ph.D. Student at the University of Iowa. Since my first semester, I've been a member of Iowa's Computer Security group,
led by my advisor, Professor EJ Jung. After graduation, my eventual goal
is to become a professor.
I am originally from Littleton, CO and graduated from Grinnell College in 2004 with dual degrees in
Computer Science and English. After graduating, I worked with Webroot Software, Inc. as a member of their Anti-Malware Research
Team. In 2005, I spent a year in Edinburgh Scotland completing a Master's degree in Creative Writing.
Research Interests
My research interests are focused on Computer Security. More specifically, I have worked extensively on web-browser security and the problem identifying fraudulent (phishing) websites. I've also studied the problem of warning users when they are about to fall victim to a phishing attack. Recently, I've become interested in online social networks and protecting users from malicious software on these networks.
