Assignment 1
Problem 1:
My primary interest is in animation. I'm particularly interested in alternative rendering techniques (cell shading, etc) for use with different styles of animation. One idea that has always intrigued me is the possibility of rendering the intricacy of Albrecht Durer etchings and woodcuts in real time, with shadows and lighting applied as intricate hatching lines. I love the endless capacity of 3D graphics for creating new textual and stylistic experiences. Photorealism is definitely interesting, but my primary goal is to come out of this class with enough core knowledge of openGL to begin exploring such possibilities.
Problem 2:
This is a randomly generated 512x512 .ppm file.
Problem 3:
This is a screenshot of a 512x512 GLUT window. I used the glutSolidTeapot() function, and added a light source, since it really wasn't that much more code than typing in a set of vertices.
