You are ready to graduate. Just need a job...

So, you've decided you like graphics. Maybe you just finished your PhD in graphics. Maybe you worked on a project with me during your master's degree. Maybe you just took computer graphics and thought it was cool.

Now you want to move from the academic realm to getting paid real money to do graphics. Lots of people need graphics!

Academic Jobs

There are a number of places to find faculty openings for computer scientists. The first two are the "ideal" places to look for jobs at research schools, though smaller regional schools may not advertise there due to costs.

Graphics-Specific Industry Job Postings

If you are looking for graphics-specific job postings, your best bet is to look at a graphics-specific job board. Below are a few I know about:

Also, beware that I personally get e-mails multiple times a year asking if I know of anyone who might be a good candidate for some job. These have ranged from movie studios to game developers to hardware companies. Usually I ignore these postings unless I know someone who might be a good fit. Telling me that you are looking for a graphics job increases the chance I will forward some of these postings to you. E-mails that directly target me are likely to be more fruitful for you, as well.

Specific Companies that Do Graphics

Maybe you are looking to stay nearby and want to know who does graphics in the midwest.

Maybe you are interested in graphics and want to know what sort of companies you might work for.

Maybe you are just looking for a job. Not related to graphics.

Below you will find a list of companies that I know do graphics of one sort or another, particularly if they are located nearby. Please note that graphics done at John Deere is completely different than graphics nVidia does. Also note that small companies or companies with small graphics groups may not have any openings now.

Companies change the links to job postings constantly, so be aware these links may not be current. Some links point to internship listings:
