SIVE paper/panel and poster session speakers, We need final versions of your submissions for the proceedings. These must be received by June 23. We would again prefer to receive Postscript via e-mail, but we'll also accept hardcopy (and, if necessary, MS word or other source files). ABOUT THE PROCEEDINGS --------------------- Initially, we will produce locally-printed unpublished proceedings that will be distributed at the workshop. Proceedings will also be placed on an ACM WWW site. The number and quality of submissions has also made it likely that a "real" proceedings will also be published. We are discussing details with interested publishers and expect to publish official proceedings shortly after the workshop. PREPARING YOUR FINAL SUBMISSION ------------------------------- SIVE submissions fall into two general categories - (1) full papers containing not-previously-published research results (2) research summaries/abstracts describing recent/current research focuses and, possibly, previously published results. We will include both kinds of papers in the proceedings. Research summaries/abstract should be 3-6 pages. Full papers should be no more than 10 pages. All papers should be formatted with: - two columns - 3/4 inch of white space on sides and top, and 1 inch on bottom of 8.5 inch by 11 inch paper (I.e. text width of 7 inches, text height of 9.25 inches) (if you use A4 paper, don't worry about the white space, just get the text width and height correct) - 1/3 of an inch between columns - 12, 11, or 10 point font. (12 is preferable since it's easier to read for many people) - no page numbers - we'll take care of them. You do not have to follow this format EXACTLY, but please try to get close. If you use Latex, the acm_proc.sty and proc.sty styles are pretty close. At the bottom of this message, we're including a very simple Latex style file that meets the format requirements. It's okay if your Postscript files include color images, BUT they'll be printed in black and white (certainly for the locally-produced proceedings and probably for the final proceedings as well). Send Postscript via e-mail to cremer@cs.uiowa.edu or send hardcopy to James Cremer Computer Science Department MacLean Hall University of Iowa Iowa City, IA 52242 In order to be able to prepare the proceedings in time for the workshop, we need to receive your final copy by June 23. Please contact us as soon as possible if you have any questions about producing final versions of your submissions. Looking forward to seeing you all in July, Jim Cremer Dinesh Manocha George Vanecek (NOTE: this information is also available on the workshop WWW page http://www.cs.uiowa.edu/~cremer/sive95.hmtl Included there is a Postscript file of a paper in the appropriate format). ------------------------------------------------------------------------ % Simple Latex style for SIVE proceedings % Derived from acm_proc.sty \oddsidemargin -0.25in \evensidemargin -0.25in \topmargin -0.25in \headheight 0pt \headsep 0pt \footheight 0pt \footskip 0pt \textheight 9.25in \textwidth 7in \columnsep 0.33in \columnseprule 0pt % Initializations \twocolumn \sloppy
