Informatics Cognate: EconomicsBA in InformaticsAn informatics major with an economics cognate requires a total of 47 semester hours, with at least 22 semester hours of coursework primarily in Economics. The core of the economics cognate consists of:
Students must also complete any two courses numbered 06E:111 through 06E:189 for a total of 22-24 s.h. Students in the economics track may opt to fulfill the 3 s.h. informatics statistics requirements with both 22S:008, Statistics for Business (4 s.h.), and 06E:071, Statistics for Strategy Problems (3 s.h.), but the additional 4 s.h. will not be counted towards the cognate. Note: students are encouraged to work with an Informatics faculty advisor to develop and get approval for personalized cognate course sets.
