ABSTRACT:

In late 80's, object-oriented programming (OOP) was introduced as a new paradigm to overcome the software crisis. In late 90's, component-based software development was introduced to enable large-scaled reuse of software modules and to solve teh limitation of OOP. Enterprise JavaBeans(EJB) is a comprehensive middle platform to effectively support CBD. In this talk, the key concept of CBD is introduced, and design methods to utilize EJB constructs to implement components are explained. Also, research directions in CBD are briefly introduced.
